American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring night shifts, Epic experience, and the ability to work in both L&D and Postpartum units.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery and Postpartum unit within a Level 3 trauma centerUnit features 11 L&D rooms (doubling as triage), 2 C-section OR suites, and 17 postpartum bedsAverage 5-6 deliveries per day, following AWHONN staffing guidelinesEpic EMR is used, with preference for recent Epic experienceShift length is 12 hours, working nights with every other weekend requiredMay float between L&D, Postpartum, and sitter shifts in the hospital as neededTeam includes resource nurse, certified surgical techs, and CNAs supporting nursing staffOrientation consists of 3 days with a preceptor in both L&D and PostpartumResponsible for providing care to laboring mothers, assisting in cesarean deliveries, and supporting high-risk obstetric casesExpected to assist with triage and care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patientsResource nurse available to assist but does not typically take patient assignmentsTeam-oriented environment with strong collaboration among providers and support staffCertified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in-house 24 / 7 for OBTravelers are first to float and should maintain schedule flexibilityMust wear navy blue scrubsMay participate in holiday scheduling rotationFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyCandidates must live outside a specified local radius to qualify\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent L&D experience with some Postpartum experienceCurrent BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification requiredAbility to circulate in C-sections and titrate medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and InsulinExperience caring for high-risk patients requiredCritical Access Hospital-only experience not acceptedPreference for candidates with Epic charting system experienceMust be willing and able to float to both L&D and PP / MB as well as sitter shifts\n Benefits\n
