NETWORK ENGINEER II

We are looking for a highly experienced Network Engineer II to design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain data / telephony networks based on various technologies and complexity levels. Duties include providing implementation engineering and technical support, including proposals and solution presentations. In addition, this position requires listening to and effectively communicating information to customers and vendors, delivering customer support both in-person and over the phone in a professional manner, training peers, working independently and as a member of a team, and maintaining cooperative work relationships.

This position participates in On-call rotation and occasional after-hours work.

This is NOT a remote position.

  • Must live within 60 miles of 1090A Pacific Avenue, Bremen, GA 30110 before starting work.

Responsibilities

  • Network Design
  • Network Troubleshooting / Maintenance
  • Customer Support (Level 2)
  • Effectively Utilize Monitoring Equipment
  • Perform duties within on-call rotation
  • Keep supervisor updated on major areas of responsibility
  • Train Peers when needed
  • Proactively identify negative network conditions when possible and communicate to supervisor
  • Seek knowledge on current and new applicable technologies
  • Perform special assignments when needed

    • Skills

  • Advanced understanding of principles and practices of networking technologies
  • Advanced understanding of LAN / WAN protocols
  • Able to work under general supervision independently and in team environment
  • Maintain cooperative work relationships
  • Possess good time management and documentation skills
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to type 45 WPM with 95+% accuracy
  • Long periods of sitting
  • Able to bend, stoop, lift up to 80 pounds, carry, kneel / crawl repetitively
  • Able to drive safely and to supply and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
  • Ability to provide and maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
  • Able to maintain balance and climb ladders safely
  • Possess sufficient hand strength and dexterity to safely use industry tools, including sharp tools
  • Must also be able to tolerate confined spaces and work well in a stressful environment.

    • Education, Experience & Training

    Candidate must meet the minimum qualifications as detailed below or have a combination of education and / or experience deemed equivalent by management.

    Education :

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field.
  • Must have advanced understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP / IP networking. Related certifications are a plus.

    • Experience :

  • Five years of directly related experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex data / telephony networks.
  • Must have advanced level experience with Juniper MX-series Routers and EX-series Switches
