JLL has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Operating Engineer to support our client in Owings Mills, MD.

This position will require strong technical, mechanical, analytical, and administrative skills necessary to operate and maintain client properties and critical environment systems and components. The primary focus of this position will center on providing high levels of customer service to clients, on-site operations, and on-call plant operational support when needed. The Lead Operating Engineer will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of building and client operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, CMMS platform usage, emergency response procedures, and general building maintenance. This is a union position.

Responsibilities :

• Performs and / or assists in the performance of all maintenance departmental service requests, ensuring that work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience.
• Checks malfunctioning equipment and ascertains corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition.
• Works with the Assistant Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer to implement the preventative maintenance program. Specific duties include but are not limited to : completion of preventative maintenance with a minimum disruption of building services, performing preventative maintenance tasks, ordering of parts and equipment required for repair, maintenance and installation of new equipment and facilities, and maintaining inventory.
• Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials and maintains a clean and safe workplace.
• Provides training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations staff such as demonstrating the proper use and care of tools and instruments, giving hands on instruction in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedure.
• Works with the Assistant Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer to ensure the availability of an adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies.
• Coordinating purchase order requests, developing sources for stock materials and performing periodic checks for supplies.
• Any and all other duties / tasks assigned.
