Maintenance Mechanic We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our client’s team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping our production equipment and machinery running smoothly through regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. You’ll play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency and workplace safety. This is a Direct Hire opportunity near Itasca, IL. Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues by observing and listening to equipment in operation.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, switches, and other electrical / mechanical parts.
- Disassemble machinery to access and inspect parts for wear or damage.
- Adjust and calibrate machine components and control instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Install new or specialized parts and test equipment after repairs.
- Maintain accurate records and initiate purchase orders for necessary parts and tools.
- Lubricate and clean machinery to prevent breakdowns.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and be available for overtime as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required.Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and hands-on training.Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLC troubleshooting.Electrician’s license is a plus but not required.Proficient in setting up machines, diagnosing issues, and performing both preventive and corrective maintenance.Strong PLC troubleshooting skills, including reading and programming code.Knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical systems, plumbing, and HVAC-related controls.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.Capable of responding quickly to emergency breakdowns and restoring equipment to service.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle non-standard situations.Able to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions effectively.Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts (8 AM–8 PM or 8 PM–8 AM), alternating between 36 and 48 hours per week.Ability to stand, walk, reach, and use hands frequently; occasional climbing, kneeling, or crawling.Must be able to lift / move over 100 pounds with assistance.Visual acuity for close work, depth perception, and focus adjustment .Job Details :
