Location : Orlando, Florida OR Tampa, Florida (Local position with minimal travel - up to 10-15% within Florida)
Salary Range : $110,000–$130,000 (Based on experience and specific location within Florida market)
Reporting To : Senior Engineering Leadership
Our client, a national leader in structural preservation, is expanding its specialized engineering team in Florida and needs a Senior Structural Engineer to inspect, diagnose, and repair complex parking structures and other concrete infrastructure throughout the Central and Southwest Florida regions.
You'll use cutting-edge inspection technology (like smart glasses for live technical guidance, GPR, and imaging tools) to lead structural assessments primarily within the Orlando / Tampa Bay metropolitan areas and surrounding Central Florida markets.
This role combines office-based engineering work with regular field inspections throughout Florida. The Senior Structural Engineer will focus on high-priority projects within the state, performing on-site inspections, diagnosing concrete and structural issues, and recommending long-term repair or preservation strategies for Florida's unique climate challenges.

What You'll Do
Conduct structural inspections of parking garages and commercial buildings throughout Central and Southwest Florida, focusing on concrete durability, hurricane damage assessment, and repair designUtilize state-of-the-art technologies and non-destructive testing methods (NDE) to conduct comprehensive structural assessments across Florida marketsServe as a technical expert for high-priority Florida-based accountsAddress Florida-specific structural challenges including hurricane damage, saltwater corrosion, and high humidity effectsDiagnose complex structural issues and develop engineering solutions compliant with Florida Building CodeCreate detailed engineering reports and recommendations that account for Florida's unique environmental factorsCollect data via non-destructive testing methods (e.g., ground-penetrating radar, corrosion mapping)Draft assessment reports and repair solutions, collaborating with local and regional design teamsProvide expertise on wind load requirements and storm damage assessmentsWhat You Need
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Related Field (Master's Preferred)PE License (Florida preferred, or ability to obtain Florida licensure quickly)5–7+ years in structural engineering, ideally with concrete / material science focusFamiliarity with Florida Building Code and hurricane-resistant design principlesExperience with field assessments, inspections, or forensic engineeringUnderstanding of Florida's unique environmental challenges (hurricanes, humidity, saltwater exposure)Strong written and verbal communication skills for client presentationsAbility to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration(Nice-to-haves)
