Electro Mechanical Designer

Selectek has an immediate need for a Electro Mechanical Designer  with a strong mechanical background to join our client’s growing engineering team. Much of the role will be mechanical based design but there will also be electrical components to the work as well.  This position will design and prepare shop drawings and BOMs related to functionality and assembly of components of high voltage switch products.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Prepare detail drawings / layouts and sketches of parts and equipment used by Transmission Switch Product Division for engineering and fabrication purposes.

• Prepare Bills of Material for assemblies and sub-assemblies.

• Review and process orders for production.

• Make electrical, mechanical and structural calculations associated with drawing preparation.

• Initiates changes as assigned by Senior Designer or Application Engineer in existing drawings after investigating technical effects of such changes.

• Other duties can include help with :

    o Erecting of switch products for testing purposes.

    o Process orders, drawings usually associated with Engineering Services.

Required :

2+ years of Mechanical or Electrical design experience

Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc)

Proficient with AutoCAD

Job Order Details :

The focus of the role will be creating shop drawings for their switch applications. This person will make changes to existing core drawings so that their products can meet the clients’ needs by customizing the equipment. In doing so, they will ensure the drawings are clean and help with the creation of the Bill of materials as well as general arrangement drawings. Some of this role will include electrical drawings.

Pay Range : Â $20 / hour - $27 / hour depending on experience

Term of assignment : Â 6 months contract to hire

Pay Method when direct : Â Hourly eligible for overtime

Location of job : Â Hampton, GA 30228

Hours & Shift :  Monday - Friday 8AM – 5PM; Can possibly start at 7am / 7 : 30am after training

Work From Home / Remote : Â No

Overtime Expected : Occasionally

Travel : Â None

Work Attire : Â Business Casual
