Manager, Electric Operations & Engineering

Responsible for the implementation of company-wide safety management systems, safety programs and policies directed at monitoring and improving safety performance and compliance consistent with Company objectives and government regulations. Supports safety efforts associated with Electric Operations and Engineering. Serves as liaison, principal contact and partner for key customers to increase their safety knowledge of safety management systems, safety programs and policies and supports assessment and reductions of risks that their teams encounter. Responsible for the safety inspections, observations and auditing programs and providing meeting topics to support the growth of the safety culture in the Electric Operations and Engineering areas.

Essential Functions :

• Manages, reviews, assesses and pursues opportunities for continuous improvement and manages company and regulatory requirements / compliance in these areas.
• Ensures that current work procedures and related skills training programs are compliant with current regulatory requirements.
• Provides for the delivery of training and information related to Company safety governance and for the development and implementation of human and operational performance initiatives.
• Ensures incidents are investigated, contributing factors identified, lessons learned communicated, improvement plans implemented and validated for sustainability to prevent recurrence in the future.
• Assists in the development and implementation of policy and procedure revisions to reflect sustainable practices learned from both data trending and incident evaluations.
• Provides for safety regulatory affairs and records maintenance systems for regulatory reporting purposes.
• Monitors and audits safety and health related work performance of operating personnel and / or contractors for compliance with Company safety policies and safe work practices. May serve as liaison and principal contact in handling improvement actions and audit findings.
• Provides ongoing feedback and information to operating managers / leadership on safety performance within their area of responsibility and advises on any revisions needed to maintain the highest level of safety performance.
• Creates partnerships and works closely with operations leadership to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. Consultant to safety management teams and local safety committees.
• Reports on safety and health related performance and trend analysis; develops strategic solutions and improvement plans; Conducts analysis of data received from observations, incidents, events and reportable injuries and provides improvement plans, program suggestions and implements changes to existing process; Manages projects resulting from improvement plans.
• Engages and works closely with unions to address and resolve safety and health issues.

Technical Knowledge / Skill / Education / Licenses / Certifications :

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Applied Sciences or related discipline or equivalent experience.

Experience : Ten (10) plus years related experience, preferably in the energy sector or comparable industry, including five (5) years in supervisory and managerial positions in the energy, construction, manufacturing, business sectors or operating areas.

Licenses & Certifications : CSP, ASP, CIH / CAIH or equivalent preferred.

This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is : $142,380.00-$158,200.00 Worker Type : Regular Number of Openings : 1 Emergency Response : Responding to emergency situations to meet customers needs is part of every employees role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
