Electrical technician / Control Panel - Temp to Perm

Overview

Level 2 - Has limited expertise in electrical work, may have residential electrical wiring experience and no control wiring background. Reads basic drawings, identifies certain components in a control panel, and works well with hand tools and meters. Familiar with wire gauges and colors. Typically 1-2 years of experience in the electrical field with required training to improve skills. Must have a desire to learn and the ability to comprehend tasks at hand and retain knowledge. Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations (state / federal laws, ISO 9001, etc.) as well as Kaman Automation policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Proficient at installing wire labels and device tags.
• Proficient with FAB shop power tools and their uses.
• Proficient at reading tape measures (metric and standard) and other measuring devices.
• Proficient at reading and identifying wire colors; confident working with hand tools and all power tools with little guidance.
• Proficient at reading mechanical and electrical drawings with minimum assistance.
• Proficient in reading and identifying wire gauges and colors on all wires.
• Competent at recognizing wire gauges, ampacities, and their uses.
• Minimum assistance may be required during project builds.
• Identifies hardware components within a control system.
• Proficient at recognizing and installing all types of wire labels and device tags.
• Completely comprehends electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Required to fabricate entire back plate, enclosure, and wiring of control back panel and enclosure doors.
• Identifies wiring or drawing errors and reports them to the engineer for correction.
• Recognizes the difference between stainless steel and painted steel as it pertains to the FAB area and the tools needed to work on these products.
