A day in the life

You’ll arrive on first shift to a busy production floor, coordinating maintenance priorities while guiding technicians through electrical and automation tasks. Your morning may start with diagnosing a PLC fault, reviewing HMIs to fine-tune machine parameters, and walking lines to verify safety interlocks and emergency stops. By midday, you could be commissioning a newly installed VFD, interpreting European and American schematics for a troubleshooting plan, and updating a layout in AutoCAD. In the afternoon, you might assist with a robot teach point, tune a SCADA tag, and present a packaging prototype concept for stakeholder feedback—always with an eye toward safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; cold temperatures; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
