Senior Software Engineer – Scaling AI / FinTech Product

Full-time

On-site (San Francisco, CA)

$175k–$250k + equity

A high-growth VC-backed startup in the AI-driven fintech space is looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers to help expand and harden a platform used by major property and financial services organisations. The company has doubled revenue over the past year and is onboarding increasingly large customers — and now needs strong engineers who can build new product features, improve stability, and help evolve the system beyond its early-stage architecture.

You’ll work closely with the CTO, senior ICs, and ML / infra specialists, contributing across the stack depending on your strengths. This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership, speed, and solving difficult engineering problems rather than sitting in a narrow product lane.

What You’ll Work On

Build and ship high-impact product features

Deliver features across backend, frontend or full-stack depending on experience.

Contribute directly to flows involving document analysis, fraud detection, and application processing.

Improve automation, reliability and customer onboarding capabilities.

Strengthen and modernise the platform

Participate in refactoring, cleanup, and architectural stabilisation as the system matures.

Improve code quality, observability, and long-term maintainability.

Help prepare the codebase to support a much larger engineering organisation (20–40+ engineers over time).

Collaborate across the engineering organisation

Partner with the CTO and Staff Engineers on core initiatives.

Work with ML and infra teams when projects touch model outputs, document processing, or backend systems.

Join technical discussions, debugging sessions, and design reviews.

What They’re Looking For

4–8 years’ experience in software engineering.

Experience shipping production features in TypeScript / React, Node.js, Python or similar modern stacks.

Background in a high-growth startup (Seed → A → B) or an environment where the engineering organisation scaled materially.

Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with evolving product needs.

Evidence of increasing responsibility — promotions, expanded scope, ownership of meaningful projects.

Tech Environment

Frontend : TypeScript, React

Backend : Node.js, Python

Infrastructure : GCP

Databases : Postgres, BigQuery

On-site in San Francisco preferred; hybrid possible for exceptional candidates.
