New Century Ophthalmology (NCOphth) is seeking a skilled, board-certified / board-eligible Ophthalmologist to join our thriving, established, and growing multi-location practice in [City / Region, North Carolina]. The ideal candidate will provide the full spectrum of high-quality, comprehensive medical, surgical, and post-operative eye care, focusing on excellent patient outcomes and a compassionate approach.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Eye Care : Provide complete medical and surgical care, including routine eye exams, vision services (prescribing corrective lenses), and management of chronic and acute eye conditions.
Surgical Procedures : Perform a variety of ophthalmic surgeries, with a focus on Cataract Surgery utilizing modern techniques and technology (e.g., advanced lens implants). Procedures may also include Glaucoma and other anterior segment surgeries based on training and practice needs.
Diagnosis and Treatment : Accurately diagnose and treat a broad range of ocular diseases, disorders, and injuries, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and corneal diseases.
Advanced Diagnostics : Utilize and interpret advanced diagnostic technologies, including OCT, visual field testing, and corneal topography, to inform treatment plans.
Patient Management : Manage pre-operative evaluations and comprehensive post-operative care, ensuring optimal patient recovery and clear communication.
Collaboration : Work collaboratively with the practice's Optometrists, Ophthalmic Technicians, and support staff to maintain a seamless, high-volume, and patient-centric clinical environment.
Documentation : Maintain meticulous and timely electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with all regulatory standards.
Continuous Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing medical education, and stay current with the latest advancements in ophthalmic care.
Qualifications
Education : Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
Training : Successful completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency program. Fellowship training (e.g., Cornea, Glaucoma) is a plus, but not required for a generalist position.
Certification : Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO).
Licensure : Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of North Carolina, or ability to obtain one.
Skills : Demonstrated expertise in modern cataract surgery. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-based skills are essential. A commitment to patient satisfaction and professional ethics is paramount.
