Emergency Room RN Job Details

Location : Salem, MA 01970 (Greater Boston Area)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (September 7, 2025 – December 6, 2025)

Healthcare Setting : 65-Bed Emergency Department (includes pediatric and acute mental health pods)

Shifts : 12-hour nights (rotating days / evenings / nights; every other weekend required)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1880 - $2020

EMR System : EPIC ASAP

Clinician to Patient Ratio : 1 : 4

Average Daily Census : 230 visits

ER RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

NRP certification preferred

TNCC certification strongly preferred

Proficient in emergency nursing skills : patient assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education

Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Key Responsibilities for Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult, pediatric, and acute mental health patients

Perform patient assessments, initiate IVs, conduct phlebotomy, EKGs, and cardiac monitoring

Accurately document patient care in EPIC ASAP EMR system

Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient environment in a fast-paced emergency department

Participate in rotating shifts and float to other units as required
