Position Description :

This 12-week paid internship program offers education, networking, and opportunities for professional growth in an environment that values people, culture, and our mission. Through mentorship and hands-on experience, the Plains Land Bank internship program equips you with the knowledge to build a successful career. You'll spend time with leaders in our association who will teach you about our business and borrowers.

Interns will work with various departments to understand the roles they play within Plains Land Bank. Additionally, you will provide administrative and office support to our branches when needed and assist with short- and long-term projects as determined by the organization.

Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Performs various administrative duties including data entry, reporting, organizing documents, and filing to support departmental initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to various projects by conducting research, gathering data, and preparing presentations / recommendations or reports as needed.
  • Work collaborating with employees and leaders to achieve department goals and objectives. Build and maintain positive professional relationships.
  • Operates a variety of standard office equipment according to detailed instructions, which may include computers, paper shredders, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines and scanners. May store / manipulate data through various software programs, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Continuously learn about the ag lending industry, company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations to enhance knowledge and skills.

What You Bring to the Team :

  • Lives within a commutable distance from our office in Amarillo, Texas.
  • Summer Internship Qualifications :

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university, majoring in Finance, Accounting, Ag Business, Ag Economics, or Ag Communications.
  • Good academic standing as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Availability from May to August 2026 for up to 30 hours per week.
  • General Information :

  • General knowledge of office equipment and systems used for the storage and retrieval of business information.
  • General knowledge of standard records management and file classification practices.
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizations skills and attention to detail.
  • Appreciation or understanding of the agricultural lifestyle is preferred but not required.
