DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Enhance dental health by performing dental prophylaxis, conducting oral cancer screenings, taking radiographic images, charting conditions, and carrying out procedures in accordance with the Dental Practice Act.

Prepare patients for dental hygiene procedures by welcoming, seating, and draping them.

Inform patients and staff by addressing questions and requests.

Ensure the readiness of instruments for dental hygiene treatments by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting appropriate tools.

Assess patients' oral health to choose materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits.

Perform dental prophylaxis by removing deposits and stains from teeth and below gum margins.

Identify oral diseases through cancer screenings, examining gums, utilizing probing techniques for periodontal disease assessment, and conducting radiographic studies.

Prevent dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventive agents.

DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must possess an active dental hygiene license in MO.

Familiarity with dental procedures and terminology.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices.
