Understand and implement cash management investment and debt managementComprehend the principles of school financeDemonstrate organizational leadershipKeep the Board of Education Superintendent and administration informed about operations needs and financial status of the district through regular reportingDirect and manage the financial planning of the district prepare the budget prepare the tax levy prepare the Truth in Taxation hearing (if needed) budget control and long-term fiscal planningProvide leadership and supervision for the administration of the district payrollRequest and assist as needed with the auditors annual examination and file require reports. Prepare and publish annual financial statementUnderstand and demonstrate the principles of accounting auditing and financial reportingForecast anticipated revenue by source and expenditures by programIdentify major sources of revenue at the local state and federal levelsRecommend procedures to correct or improve exceptions or weaknesses note in the annual auditProvide leadership for developing and implementing procedures to ensure employee and student safetySecure necessary bonds for the Treasurer and any employees who require bondsDirect purchasing and supply management prepare standards and specifications for biddingApply appropriate bases of accounting in measuring financial position and operating resultsEvaluate recommend and administer District insurance policiesAdminister plan assess implement and evaluate the Districts Risk Management ProgramComprehend labor relations / collective bargaining issues and serve on the Board of Education negotiations teamsDemonstrate appropriate skills related to the recruitment selection orientation evaluation and assignment of business department staff including the evaluation and creation of job descriptionsAssist the Board of Education with its commitment to non-discrimination in its employment practicesPlan and carry out such other assignments as the Superintendent may requireReports to
