Additional Information :
$10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS with distance-based relocation available.
$2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS available for evening shifts.
Schedule : Full-time evening shifts (8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday), including on-call responsibilities during nights and weekends. Call hours can vary, requiring responses within 30 minutes.
Major Responsibilities :
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient operating room environment while ensuring optimal patient care.Utilize aseptic techniques in the preparation of surgical materials and equipment.Prepare and set up the operating room for various surgical procedures while ensuring all equipment is functional and sterile.Act as a Second Assistant during surgical procedures when necessary.Monitor and report any equipment or supply issues to the appropriate staff.Transport patients and / or equipment efficiently.Ensure the completeness and readiness of specialty carts and items, including regular checks for equipment conditions.Demonstrate knowledge and skills to cater to the specific needs of patients of all ages.Licensure and Certification Requirements :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 6 months if not already certified.Education and Experience :
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.No prior experience required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room protocols.Ability to operate various medical equipment used in surgical settings.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Basic computer proficiency.Commitment to maintaining annual hospital-based certification requirements.Physical Requirements :
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and highly stressful environment.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, lift over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs.Continuous exposure to various hazards within the surgical environment.Must have functional sight and hearing, and wear required protective gear.Frequent bending, standing, walking, and the ability to perform job-essential equipment operations.This job description outlines the general nature and level of work expected and is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of activities or responsibilities.
