Job Summary :
The Interventional Radiology Rad Tech is responsible for producing diagnostic quality radiologic images, assisting radiologists during procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role involves operating X-ray equipment, administering contrast, and maintaining equipment. The tech must work cooperatively with the healthcare team and demonstrate excellent patient care.

Responsibilities :
- Select exposure factors and position patients to produce high-quality radiologic images.
- Administer oral contrast as needed.
- Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic / fluoroscopic examinations.
- Assist radiologists during procedures.
- Operate X-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead.
- Complete assigned procedures in a timely manner.
- Assist with clerical duties, stocking, and transporting patients.
- Maintain medication security.
- Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
- Participate in hospital performance improvement activities.
- Answer telephone inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
Required Skills & Certifications :
Technician License in the state of NYBLS (American Heart Association ONLY)Neurosurgery / Neuroscience experienceAART certificationTwo (2) years of experiencePreferred Skills & Certifications :
VIR (Vascular Interventional Radiology) experienceSpecial Considerations :
2-3 call shifts per monthAt least 1 holiday assignmentScheduling :
5-8 hour shifts, with room for negotiation up to 4-10 hour shifts.No rotating shift schedule.
