Plumber

We are seeking a skilled plumber to install, maintain, and repair domestic hot and cold water systems, including heating systems, boilers, hot water tanks, and more. This role also involves working with chilled water systems and a variety of plumbing fixtures, ensuring all installations and repairs are completed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair domestic hot and cold water systems, including heating systems, boilers, hot water tanks, heat exchangers, radiators, valves, and pumps.
• Install and maintain chilled water systems and related equipment, including pumps, valves, regulators, coils, and strainers.
• Inspect plumbing systems for malfunctions, safely shut down systems, and make necessary repairs.
• Cut, bend, solder, thread, and assemble pipes and fittings.
• Join pipes using flanges, fittings, solder, glue, or welding.
• Install, clean, maintain, and repair sanitary sewer lines and storm drainage systems using hand or power tools.
• Maintain and repair fire protection sprinkler systems, including pipes and sprinkler heads.
• Install and repair gas lines and related equipment.
• Install and repair pipe insulation systems.
• Respond to emergency calls during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Skills

Skilled in the use of tools, materials, and equipment of the plumbing trade. Sufficient training and experience to qualify as a journeyman plumber, with approximately five years of work in the trade. Journey-level knowledge equivalent to four years of completion in an apprentice program or a combination of equivalent education and work experience. Understanding of complex troubleshooting and repair of plumbing and hydronic systems. Thorough knowledge of all materials and processes of the trade. Ability to work from plans and specifications. Knowledge of all applicable plumbing codes. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

May be required to use respiratory equipment. Willingness to work variable shifts at night or on weekends. Experience working in confined spaces or at high elevations.

Work Environment

This full-time position requires 40 hours of work per week. The role includes driving a university vehicle to various locations on campus. You will not work with minors, and the role may involve potential emergency call responses. The position entails working in diverse conditions, including confined spaces and high elevations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
