Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Quality Assurance / Safety Evaluator
The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Quality Assurance / Safety Evaluator is responsible for auditing the compliance of the assigned site to the accepted standards within the NITE Quality Manual and NITE's Occupational Safety and Health Plan. At the direction of NITE Quality and Safety Management, the candidate will audit and produce reports in accordance with the customer approved Audit Schedule to include safety program evaluation. The candidate will also assist site management in incident investigation, documentation of nonconformities, corrective actions, preventive actions, customer feedback, external audits, and other quality actions. Position requires flexibility to work occasional non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements. Additionally, position requires flexibility as duties and responsibilities may be adjusted to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- You will support the establishment, development, implementation, and maintenance of an ISO 9001 : 2015 compliant Quality Management System (QMS).
- This involves assisting with the planning and upkeep of the Quality Manual, and helping site personnel develop and revise Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- You'll develop and execute QA audit and inspection schedules, participate in technical inspections, and manage quality training requirements.
- You'll also maintain audit documentation, analyze trends, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality programs.
- Finally, you'll provide support for government quality audits.
- Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Management :
- You will coordinate and implement the site's Occupational Safety and Health Program.
- This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies (OSHA, EPA, US Navy, etc.), identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, and coordinating safety training.
- You'll serve as the focal point for all safety inspections, reporting, and analysis, and provide guidance to the site manager on hazard assessment and regulatory compliance.
- Responsibilities also include incident reporting and investigation, developing and implementing corrective actions, conducting work area inspections, and promoting waste minimization and pollution prevention.
- You will develop strategies for continuous safety program improvement, manage injury treatment coordination with medical facilities, and perform root cause analysis for incidents.
- A key aspect of this role is fostering a strong safety culture and encouraging employee participation in safety improvement initiatives.
- You will ensure adherence to all applicable range regulations and follow established procedures to meet quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field or3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field or0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field orHigh School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.Three years' experience in quality assurance / control methodology and safety programs, including establishing programs from inception through successful implementation.Three years' experience in design, implementation and assessment of internal program performance controls (ISO 9001 : 2015).Two years' experience in occupational safety practice and proof of 30-hour OSHA training, MSHA training or 40-hour HAZWOPER or completion of Safety training within 6-months of hire date.Ability to write professional reports, business correspondence, and technical procedures.Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a management team successfully.Required to be a US CitizenMust possess and maintain an active DoD Secret Security ClearancePreferred Requirements

Will require 10% - 25% travel and observation of operations / maintenance in austere environments. Desk and record auditing is prevalent. Employee interviews may include standing for up to an hour. Some observation time may be outside in the elements for some of the remote range areas.
