Kitchen Manager – Sloatsburg, NY
A high-volume, upscale casual restaurant in Sloatsburg, NY is seeking a skilled and organized Kitchen Manager to lead back-of-house operations. This hands-on leader will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, maintaining high culinary standards, and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen execution. The ideal candidate is passionate about food quality, safety, and team development, with strong experience in high-volume kitchen environments.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient prep, production, and execution during high-volume service
Lead and manage BOH team, including hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen that meets all health and safety regulations
Monitor inventory levels and place food and supply orders to ensure par levels are maintained
Control food costs through effective waste management, portion control, and recipe adherence
Conduct regular line checks and ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and timing
Collaborate with FOH management to maintain smooth communication and operational flow
Assist with menu execution and seasonal updates in collaboration with ownership and executive team
Uphold kitchen morale, productivity, and a strong sense of teamwork
Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness to avoid disruptions in service
Qualifications :
3+ years of kitchen management or high-level supervisory experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant
Strong leadership and team-building abilities
Thorough knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification preferred)
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
Experience with inventory management and cost control
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and maintain a positive, professional kitchen culture
Flexible schedule with availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays
