The NKADD is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Director of Finance.

Job Overview :

This role is responsible for providing leadership in financial planning and executing the financial goals and objectives of the NKADD.

Maximizing the efficient use of funding to provide services to the community and to constituents is a key responsibility of this position, in addition to management and administration of policies, compliance with contracts as well as state and federal laws, supporting divisional monitoring and audits, and training on related best practices.

This position prepares all monthly and annual financial statements and manages the financial performance of the organization including updating and adhering to financial controls, analyzing budgets, planning, forecasting, and reporting.

As a member of NKADD’s senior leadership team, the Director of Finance must be able to understand and connect the organization’s programmatic responsibilities and contractual obligations to its local, state and federal financial resources. This individual will work closely with the Executive Director and other members of senior staff to build organizational strategy for NKADD where programmatic goals and financial necessity meet and will also work closely with the HR Manager on alignment of talent retention and attraction efforts related to available funding.

The role directs and mentors finance staff and includes oversight of payroll, accounts receivable and payable, cash flow, budgeting, financial analysis, and the fiscal management of a Medicaid Waiver Program.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, professional in demeanor, possess strong collaboration / partnership skills, and love working with people. A strong knowledge and proficiency in the advanced functions of Excel and the ability to learn and work in various reporting and accounting databases is necessary.

Additionally, there is responsibility for coordinating and leading the annual audit process and communicating with external auditors and the Treasurer of the Board of Directors. This position helps set organizational direction and ensures that Finance are an integral part of decision making and strategic planning.  The successful candidate will be highly organized with verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate and present financial matters to the Executive Director, the Senior Leadership Team, and to the Board of Directors.

Requirements :

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field with five to seven years of directly related experience in accounting and finance, supplemented with demonstrated experience in the management of personnel.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial statements, general ledger, journal entries, budgeting, account analysis, bank reconciliations, etc. is also required.
• Experience with fund accounting and governmental finance practices is essential.
• Experience with AccuFund Accounting Suite a plus.
• Payroll experience preferred.
• Candidate must have the ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background check and be bondable.
