Industrial Multicraft Maintenance Mechanic
Location : South Indianapolis, IN
Employer : Aegis Worldwide (supporting a brand-new, state-of-the-art recycling facility)
A day in the life
Step into a freshly commissioned recycling plant and start your shift with a handoff from the outgoing team. You’ll review open work orders, then move between preventative maintenance rounds and real-time troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. One hour you’re dialing in conveyor and extrusion equipment, the next you’re assisting OEM technicians on new installations and learning proprietary systems. You’ll partner with vendors and contractors, jump into plant support tasks typical of a startup, and contribute ideas that lift reliability. End your 12-hour day or night shift with a clear pass-down so the next team is set up for success.
What you’ll own
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines.
- Support installations, modifications, and equipment upgrades in a fast-scaling environment.
- Execute preventative maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Assist with startup activities and learn proprietary systems directly from OEM suppliers.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to keep lines running safely and efficiently.
- Drive continuous improvement actions that enhance plant reliability.
- Pitch in with general plant support as needed in a startup setting.
What you bring
Junior Technician : 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.Senior Technician : 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.Proficiency with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and electrical troubleshooting.Experience with conveyors and extrusion equipment preferred.Background in Food & Beverage is a plus.Multicraft capability required; PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.Comfort working in a startup culture and in a non-climate-controlled environment.Compensation & benefits

Training : Standard day shift, 8a–4p, approximately 2 weeksAfter training : 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule, 7a–7p or 7p–7a (day and night teams)
