CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including : a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.

Mental Health Technician - Make a Difference in Behavioral Health!

Are you a compassionate and skilled individual dedicated to supporting individuals on their mental health journey? Join our team as a Mental Health Technician and provide essential direct patient care in a therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Direct Patient Care : Provide trauma-informed care, support, and supervision, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
• Behavioral Support : Assist patients in developing coping skills, self-expression, and positive behavioral patterns through feedback and reinforcement.
• Emergency & Safety : Maintain a secure environment, respond to emergencies, and perform basic nursing tasks (e.g., vital signs, ADL assistance).
• Therapeutic Milieu : Facilitate activities, teach socialization skills, and utilize CPI techniques to manage and de-escalate situations respectfully.
• Documentation & Teamwork : Accurately document patient observations and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
• Mentorship : Precept new MHTs and contribute to a healthy, team-focused work environment.

Job Requirements

Will obtain the following within six (6) months of employment :

Certification as a Mental Health Technician if does not have Bachelors degree
