General Laborer

Job Description

Join a dynamic and large precast concrete company, specializing in producing concrete slabs primarily for commercial buildings. This role involves a variety of tasks from moving rebar through the facility, to helping set forms and pour concrete. It requires consistent lifting and working in a fast-paced environment. Some candidates may also be trained as carpenters to build and set concrete forms for production.

Responsibilities

• Move rebar and materials throughout the facility.
• Assist in setting up and oiling forms.
• Lay mesh and tie reinforcing bars and steel.
• Set inserts and strike off concrete surfaces.
• Strip forms and clean up the work area.
• Perform tasks both indoors in the manufacturing facility and outdoors in the yard.

Work Environment

This position is split equally between indoor and outdoor work. Tasks like setting forms and pouring concrete are performed inside the manufacturing facility, while staging and shipping dried concrete slabs occur outside in the yard. Expect to get dirty throughout the day. Work hours are from 6 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, with a dress code of steel-toed boots, jeans, and a work shirt. Personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, vest, and glasses, is provided. You will work within a team of 2-3 people, with a total of about 70 employees throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 / hr.
