Position Information Job Type Non-Faculty Position Title Assistant Director, Gift Administration Position Number E Department Institutional Advancement Location Morehouse College - Atlanta, GA Position Summary The Assistant Director, Advancement Gift Administration, bears primary responsibility for the efficient and accurate processing and recording of gifts for the Office of Institutional Advancement at Morehouse College. This individual will ensure timely recording of all gift types and pledges received through various channels in collaboration with the Director of Gift Administration, OIA colleagues and relevant campus partners. The Assistant Director, Gift Administration, is a key role within the Donor Experience team and OIA, and a vital part of the proper stewardship and management of philanthropic gifts to the College. This position ensures that all donations follow IRS, CASE and Morehouse practices, rules and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working in a higher education or non-profit philanthropic operation
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Ascend, or other fundraising CRM
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency using excel, basic formulas, vlookup, pivot tablesUnderstanding of IRS and CASE guidelines as it pertains to the recording and receipting of giftsThree plus years working in gift administration or similar business process or accounting functionPreferred Education / Experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Coordinate and execute day to day handling of gift processing to ensure that all pledges and gifts are accurately captured, entered, deposited, and designatedEnsure that all pledges and gifts recorded in Ascend have fully executed or proper gift documentation and are recorded according to donor intent. This includes internal agreements, MOUs, pledge agreements, gift agreements, estate documentsEnsure gift documentation is stored securely in appropriate locations within OIA and shared locations with Office of Business and FinanceLead regular reconciliation of transactions and deposits with OBF and relevant campus departmentsResolve any discrepancies in a timely mannerCommunicate professionally with donors and internal / external stakeholders regarding gift transactions, receipts and philanthropic reportingProvides support and professional knowledge for the various vehicles and methods for giving to Morehouse CollegeBe a trusted resource and subject matter expert on the various platforms and channels for gifts and pledges where donors interact including Give Campus, Givezy, Salesforce, Double the DonationEnsure accuracy of donor contact information by updating records prior to mailings and outreach effortsReview incoming gifts to ensure compliance with donor intent and properly documented designationsPartner with Donor Experience team to support receipts, acknowledgement, pledge reminders and accurate pledge dataPercentage Of Time Posting Detail Information Posting Number SP Number of Vacancies 1 Job Open Date 10 / 02 / Job Close Date Open Until Filled No Special Instructions Summary EEO Statement Summary Morehouse College is an equal opportunity employer.
