Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $2,122 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title : RN - CVICU Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift : 36 Experience : Minimum of 1 year of CVICU experience License : Valid Nursing License Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferred Must-Have : EPIC experience preferred Knowledge of post-cardiac assessment Ability to care for circulatory support devices (IABP, IMPELLA, LVAD, ECMO) Experience with titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications Ability to interpret cardiac waveforms and monitor hemodynamics Description : The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This unit cares for patients requiring critical cardiovascular support. Common diagnoses include post-operative care for CABG, valve replacement / repair, and management of devices such as Impella and IABP. The RN to patient ratio is 1 : 2, with CNA support. The RN will have access to support staff for ADLs, vital signs, and transport needs. There is a unit charge nurse and 24 / 7 intensivist support available. The use of Epic for electronic medical records is preferred. Monitors used in the unit include Philips equipment and CRRT systems. Nurses rotate weekends every other week and will be expected to work 75% of holidays. The unit culture is high acuity and fast-paced.
