The Department of Family and Community Services, Division of Departmental Support Services is recruiting for full-time Accountant 4 in Anchorage or Juneau, Alaska. This position is open to Alaska Residents Only.

What You Will Be Doing : Are you an experienced Accountant looking to join a new, fun, and exciting team? If so, the Department of Family and Community Services is recruiting to fill an Accountant 4 within our Finance Unit.

If Cost Allocation and Federal reporting are skills you know or an area you are excited about learning, this is the position you want. Responsibilities include :

  • Administration of the department's public assistance cost allocation plan
  • Adherence to federal regulations and ensure the integrity of the allocation processes
  • Serving as the Cost Allocation specialist for the department
  • Prepare the Title IV-E federal reports

The following professional qualities are highly desired :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain complex concepts in a straightforward manner
  • Experience providing technical assistance to internal and external clients
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply complex federal regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team

    Juneau : Our offices are centrally located in beautiful downtown Juneau, close to shopping, dining, hiking trails, and the waterfront. We are currently located in the Court Plaza Building where you will have large windows with views of Mount Juneau or water views of the Channel.

    Successful candidates will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities :

  • Accounting : Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual, obligations, and costs methods.
