ACCOUNTANT (Permanent)
Our client, an established manufacturing & distribution organization in WNY, is looking to hire an Accountant to join their team. This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller who is out of state at another facility but has guidance & mentorship from the on-site Senior Accountant. Responsibilities :
- Perform general day-to-day accounting duties ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Update and maintain journal entries and regularly conduct general ledger reconciliations
- Identify, report, and correct errors
- Prepare financial statements regarding income, cash flows, balance sheets, etc.
- Assist with month-end / year-end close by preparing and generating financial reports, ensuring they are up to date and accurate
- Analyze costs, pricing, and variances and report findings to increase the financial performance of the organization
- Assist with audit preparation by compiling necessary financial documents and responding to inquiries from external auditors
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams by providing financial guidance and offer suggestions to improve process flows
- Participate in process improvement by identifying areas to streamline workflows and optimize efficiency
- Ensure compliance is maintained at all times
- Work well both independently and in a team environment
- Work on several special projects at a given time, ensuring completion in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned / as necessary
