Bishop & Company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced  Accountant  to support the financial operations of a well-respected nonprofit organization in Honolulu. This role oversees day-to-day accounting functions, ensures accuracy in financial reporting, and supports compliance with audit and tax requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage all banking activities, including updating authorized signers, processing deposits, uploading ACH batches, and maintaining the bank account database.
• Record and reconcile daily receipts such as payments, donations, program fees, and retail transactions, ensuring proper coding and accuracy.
• Process vendor payments by verifying invoices, preparing disbursements, and ensuring appropriate authorization.
• Complete monthly General Excise Tax (GET) and annual sales tax filings accurately and on time.
• Maintain and update accounting ledgers using MIP Fund Accounting software.
• Reconcile credit card transactions and statements, resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Support year-end audit and tax preparation, ensuring all financial records are properly maintained and filed digitally.
• Perform other related accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
