ESC has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of People, Talent and Culture. This role leads all aspects of HR, Employee facing payroll, recruiting, and team development while championing the company’s “One Company” culture — breaking down silos between departments and ensuring every team member feels connected to the same mission, values, and standards of excellence. The Director partners closely with senior leadership to align people strategy with business strategy, strengthen leadership capabilities, and enhance the employee experience across the enterprise. The role sits primarily onsite in Kenosha, WI, with one day remote / week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop a comprehensive people strategy that supports company growth, retention, and leadership development.
- Promote collaboration and proper workflow between HR, Recruiting and Training & Development throughout the new employee onboarding process
- Establish metrics to measure engagement, turnover, recruiting effectiveness, and leadership readiness.
- Lead and mentor the HR, Recruiting, and Training teams to deliver consistent, proactive support across the organization.
- Develop, manage and monitor departmental budgets, including HR, ADP and Training & Development allocations.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party vendors to support employee services, such as temporary staffing agencies.
- Analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on a variety of human resources issues.
Human Resources Oversight
Oversee employee relations, performance management, and policy implementation across all entities.Ensure consistency in employee experience and compliance across multiple states and business units.Partner with Accounting for payroll processing alignment, tax compliance, and benefit reconciliation.Maintain current knowledge of employment law and ensure all practices remain compliant.Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
Lead the recruiting function to build a pipeline of high-quality candidates across field, corporate, and management positions.Partner with department leaders to forecast workforce needs and align recruiting with strategic growth plans.Enhance the employer brand and candidate experience in collaboration with the marketing team.Training & Development
Oversee the development and implementation of onboarding, leadership, and technical training programs.Support managers in developing coaching and feedback skills to improve team performance.Establish career paths and growth frameworks that reinforce retention and engagement.Culture & Organizational Integration
Drive the company’s “One Company” culture, promoting shared values, collaboration, and cross-company teamwork.Lead reputation management initiatives by educating and training employees on professional conduct, punctuality, organization and communication when interacting with vendors, clients and other external partners, ensuring all team members represent the company with integrity and professionalism.Partner with operating company leaders to align policies, communication, and recognition programs under a consistent cultural framework.Develop and roll out company-wide engagement initiatives, communication tools, and recognition programs that celebrate collaboration and results.Serve as a cultural ambassador and trusted advisor to leadership, helping to model behaviors that reinforce unity and accountability.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development (Master’s preferred).SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional)8+ years of HR leadership experience, including team management and strategic-level influence.Experience leading HR across multiple operating companies or business units.Strong understanding of employment law, compliance, and multi-state HR administration.Proven experience driving cultural transformation or “One Company” initiatives.Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach.ADP knowledge is strongly encouraged.WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT WORKING HERE :
