JOB OBJECTIVES :
Produces quality screening and diagnostic mammography films and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) exams; educates patients regarding patient exams and accurately documents procedures completed and procedure codesRESPONSIBILITIES :
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violationsInteracts compassionately and effectively with patients providing a Five Star experience by reducing anxieties; provides explanations of procedures and equipment, and answers questionsEscorts patient from sub-wait area to procedure roomExplains procedure to patient prior to beginning examObtains appropriate medical history required (patient and family) before procedure is startedExplains comparative film review and obtains patient film release signature, as appropriatePerforms appropriate screening and diagnostic mammography examsCompletes all required billing and documentation accurately and timely in EHR and PACSPerforms bone density screening as assignedMaintains cleanliness of all radiology equipment and roomsMaintains job knowledge per the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and state regulatory requirementsFollows department timekeeping proceduresWorks at main campus and satellite facilitiesQUALIFICATIONS : Education :
Required : Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved School of Radiologic TechnologyLicensure / Certification :
Required : American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Radiology (R); California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license Radiography and Mammography; American Heart Association BLSExperience :
Preferred : Mammography screening experienceEssential Skills :
