Your Role

Your role is based in Raleigh, NC with relocation benefits available. We are seeking a leader to drive the development of cutting-edge software solutions for the Novum IQ Infusion Platform. As a Manager, Systems Software Engineering, you will lead a team of engineers in Raleigh and be responsible for delivering software R&D deliverables that transform the medical devices and therapies business segment.

Company and product context

Baxter's Infusion Systems and Patient Monitoring products help clinicians safely deliver medications and monitor patients at the bedside. The Novum IQ Infusion Platform brings together Large Volume and Syringe pumps, IQ Enterprise Connectivity Suite, and Dose IQ Safety Software to support smart pump technology and user experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Foster a Culture of Innovation

Recruit, mentor, and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, driving innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and Optimize Embedded and Digital Products
  • Oversee software and systems development for the infusion pump platform, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards for medical devices.

  • Drive Agile Development
  • Champion Agile methods and promote their adoption across the software engineering team.

  • Lead Software Requirements and Risk Management
  • Develop and manage software requirements and risk management to meet clinical and user needs.

  • Represent the Team
  • Represent the systems software engineering team in meetings and communications with stakeholders.

  • Identify and Mitigate Technical Risks
  • Identify risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive excellence in software development.

  • Coach, Mentor, and Motivate
  • Coach and motivate team members to achieve high performance and timely, high-quality delivery.

    What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of related experience.
  • Experience
  • Managing technical teams in the development of medical device software, with expertise in systems engineering for medical devices.

  • Technical Expertise
  • Experience with requirements management and issue tracking tools; solid understanding of software engineering principles (SDLC, IEC Agile).

  • Innovative Problem-Solving
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and manage projects.

  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and manage competing priorities while maintaining high energy and engagement.

    Other important information

    Baxter is committed to flexible work arrangements, with a policy that includes a minimum number of onsite days. The policy supports in-person connection and collaboration and is subject to local laws and business needs.

    Compensation : The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000.00 to $176,000.00 annually. Final pay is based on location, skills, experience, and other factors. For questions about pay and benefits, please speak with the recruiter during interview.
