Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for cold storage and food facility projects, covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
• Prepare estimates at all project stages, from conceptual budgets to final preconstruction pricing.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to fully understand scope and requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to align estimates with project goals.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.
• Identify value engineering options and cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or function.
• Advise on budget optimization and cost-control strategies during design development.
• Assess project risks related to cost and schedule and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Incorporate contingencies into estimates to account for potential scope changes or unforeseen conditions.
• Stay current on market trends, regional pricing shifts, and construction technologies relevant to cold storage and food / beverage sectors.
• Present clear, comprehensive estimate reports including cost breakdowns, assumptions, and scheduling impacts.
• Maintain organized estimate files, vendor quotes, and project documentation for future use.
