Design, Product Developer - Apparel (TEMP)

Rylee + Cru Collective is a global children's apparel company with three brands under its umbrella : Rylee + Cru, Quincy Mae, and Noralee. Known for hand-drawn artwork and timeless silhouettes, we create thoughtful, elevated designs for babies, children, women, and teens. This role supports design and product development across all three brands.
Role Overview :
We're seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Temp Production Associate to support our design and production teams from concept through final product. This temporary position is to cover maternity leave and offers the opportunity to work closely with our Founder, Senior Designers, and cross-functional partners to help keep development moving efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader who takes initiative, makes thoughtful decisions, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role includes hands-on work with sample and material approvals, Illustrator CAD work, and team coordination to maintain timelines and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Support tech pack development, artwork packages, and fabric development
Maintain and update line plans, fabric details, and production tracking in Google Sheets
Review and approve, lab dips, fabric swatches, trims, and strike-offs
Communicate with overseas vendors to support development and production needs
Keep material and trim libraries organized and up to date
Track and manage all development and production samples
Input and maintain accurate data in Excel and Google Docs
Assist with special projects as assigned by the design team
Qualifications :
3+ years of experience in apparel production, product development, or a related field
Strong CAD skills and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
Solid understanding of color theory, fabric, construction, and trims
Highly organized with excellent communication and follow-up skills
Confident decision-maker who takes ownership and drives projects forward
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Familiarity with Asana, Slack, and Google Sheets
Experience communicating with overseas vendors is a plus
Positive, collaborative, and detail-focused
Must be based in San Diego or able to commute to our Rancho Bernardo office daily (M–F)
