Responsibilities Position is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma and teaching hospital Staffed for a patient ratio of 1 : 2-3 per nurse Night shifts : three 12-hour shifts per week from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00 Every other weekend is required Floating may be required within the hospital or to similar units at sister campuses as needed Uses Epic EMR; experience required Scrub color is royal blue and white Return staff must have a 1-year break before returning as a traveler Travelers can only extend one time per contract if on day shift and twice if on night shift Maximum of two contracts within the system before requiring a 6-month break Pre-employment modules (4–10 hours) must be completed before start date Time off must be discussed with the manager and only one holiday may be approved Background or license hits within the last year will not be approved First-time travelers are generally not preferred, but may be considered by the manager based on experience Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must pass an EKG exam before starting Epic charting experience required Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility No pending licenses accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626220.
