Orthopaedics Patient Service Representative

Full-time (40 hours per week) opportunity based in Augusta within MaineGeneral's Orthopaedics department. This role provides vital front-line support for patients and clinical staff, ensuring a welcoming experience and smooth coordination of care. The PSR performs receptionist, registration, and clerical duties with a strong focus on accuracy and exceptional customer service.

Greets patients, answers calls, and assists with clerical and administrative needs for the Orthopaedics practice. Schedules appointments through computerized scheduling systems while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail. Verifies insurance benefits, obtains necessary precertification or authorizations, and communicates financial responsibilities to patients. Collects and records payments such as co-pays and deductibles, referring to financial counselors when appropriate. Ensures all demographic, billing, and clinical information is accurately entered into the registration system in a timely manner.
