What the Kitchen Cook does!
As a part-time Kitchen Cook, you’ll prepare seasonal menu items designed around world class Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays for corporate, social and club events at the winery. Working at our offsite kitchen in San Jose, the day to day may include :
Prepping and cooking menu items according to instruction and support from the executive and sous chefsLabeling, stocking, and organizing ingredients to sanitation and food safety guidelinesManaging ingredients and inventory; communicating and reporting to the executive and sous chefsProviding support in the following areas : events line execution, wine bar food prep, pastry / baking prep, and porterRequirements :
As a Kitchen Cook, you will bring :
1+ year of kitchen experience or equivalent culinary educationServSafe and / or California Food Handlers CertificationAbility to adjust and modify recipe quantitySafe knife skills and kitchen sanitation knowledgeAbility to work effectively in a team, be proactive, have a sense of urgency, a positive attitude and effective communicationWork Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to work a flexible daytime schedule (Tuesday - Thursday availability required)Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and reach frequently for the duration of the shiftLift and carry up to 50 pounds frequentlyHandles sharp and hot tools regularlyFrequently utilizes cleaning chemicalsDrive to / from the offsite kitchen in San Jose to the Winery in Los Gatos, as neededCompensation details : 22-27 Hourly Wage
