As Information Security Architect, you’ll play a key role in shaping Bank Australia’s security architecture during a multi-year merger and acquisition initiative. You’ll provide strategic and innovative security design across applications, technology and cloud environments. Balancing technical expertise with stakeholder engagement, you’ll ensure systems and infrastructure remain secure, resilient and aligned with business goals.

What you will be doing
Design and maintain secure architecture across applications, cloud and technology environmentsDevelop and oversee security frameworks, policies and standards aligned with business and regulatory needsProvide expert guidance on security controls, strategy and emerging technology risksCollaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure secure solution deliveryLead architecture design, integration planning and technology roadmapsEnsure quality assurance and compliance across internal and vendor-delivered solutionsPromote secure cloud-first strategies using platforms like Azure and AWSSupport implementation and troubleshooting of security solutionsManage vendor relationships and lead security RFPs and roadmap planning.What you will bring
Extensive experience as a Senior or Lead Security ArchitectDeep expertise across legacy infrastructure, cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), and application architectureProven experience in system migration, consolidation and large-scale transformation programsStrong skills in technical documentation, solution design and regulatory alignmentFamiliarity with APIs, integration patterns and middleware technologiesExcellent stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skillsStrategic thinker with resilience, adaptability and a collaborative mindsetBachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (desirable)Experience in financial services and supporting M&A programs (desirable)Security certifications (e.g. SABSA) and cloud architecture certifications (Azure / AWS) highly regardedCommitment to Bank Australia’s purpose, values, and B Corp ethos.By submitting an application you agree to Bank Australia’s Privacy Policy for applicants and confirm that you are legally able to work in Australia.
