Registered Nurse, Emergency Services
This role provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
Essential Functions
- Provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults.
- Access and manage protected health information (demographic, clinical, insurance, financial, complete medical record).
- Maintain awareness of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and adhere to safety protocols.
- Perform physical tasks such as frequent standing, walking, lifting / moving patients, and repetitive hand / arm movements; work in environments that may expose to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Representative knowledge and skills include understanding of the nursing process, patient assessment, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and adherence to clinical guidelines.
Requirements
Education : Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.License / Credentials : Current RN license in the state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.Employment Details
