Location : Waynesboro, VA, USA
Role : The LYCRA Company is currently seeking a Controls Technician to join our team in Waynesboro, VA.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and calibration of instruments, control valves, transmitters, etc.
- Monitor, maintain and trouble-shoot control loops, instruments, and / or entire control systems
- Troubleshoot and repair 480V Motor Control Centers and associated distribution equipment
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus and components including transformers, circuit breakers, fuses motors and controllers
- Ability to operate and work safely from man lifts, scissor lifts, etc.
- Troubleshoot and install VFD’s, program, and tune settings for proper operation
- Select and use proper PPE to OSHA and NFPA 70E standards
- Demonstrate and understand the principles of electricity, electronics, control, and power distribution systems
Qualifications (Required)
At least 3 years of industrial experience in a Control Technician / Maintenance related full-time position OR 1 year of industrial experience in a control Technician / Maintenance related position with either a 2-year degree or electrical certification (i.e., Journeymen)Working knowledge of single and three phase power systems to include Motor Control Centers, Transformers and PanelboardsWorking knowledge of temperature level and flow controlAbility to read and follow electrical drawings, schematics and PIDsAbility to read and understand the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70EAbility to use electrical testing equipmentAbility to use a computer (PC), including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)Must be willing and able to work a normal day-based schedule (8hr day-based; 7am-3 : 30pm) with occasional night, weekend and overtime as neededQualifications (Preferred)
Experience rebuilding control valvesElectrical Journeyman certificationAt least 5 years of industrial experience in a control Technician / electrical / maintenance related roleAble to troubleshoot analog and digital control circuitsExperience troubleshooting, programming, and installing VFDsAble to install raceways, wiring and associated equipment to codeMinimum Level 1 ISA Certified Control Systems Technician CertificationWorking knowledge of Emerson, Mitsubishi, and Siemens drivesAble to install, modify and troubleshoot PLC and DCS systemsSAP experienceWe’re an equal opportunity employer.
