About the Role
We are seeking an Industrial Electrical Engineer to support our industrial projects by designing practical installation layoutssuch as conduit routing, equipment placement, and electrical pathwayswhile also providing technical support to field teams and project managers. This role blends engineering design with hands-on coordination, ensuring that our installations are efficient, code-compliant, and fully aligned with field conditions and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Develop electrical installation designs, including conduit routing, equipment layout, and ductbank sizing
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and project specifications.
- Ensure designs meet NEC, NFPA 70E, and client-specific standards.
- Identify constructability issues and adjust designs for field practicality.
Field & Project Support
Work closely with field electricians and supervisors to address technical questions and site-specific constraints.Conduct field walkdowns to verify existing conditions and gather design input.Assist project managers with estimating, scheduling, and scoping electrical work.Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, and engineering partners to align system routing and installation approaches.Support RFIs, change orders, and technical clarifications throughout the project lifecycle.Quality & Documentation
Prepare documentation packages for installation teams (drawings, material lists, cable schedules, etc.).Support commissioning and startup by ensuring designs are implemented correctly.Maintain accurate records and provide input for project closeout documentation.Qualifications Required
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.Experience in industrial electrical systems, installation, or construction environments.Ability to design conduit routing, raceways, cable paths, and equipment layout.Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings.Solid understanding of NEC requirements.Excellent communication skills for working with field teams and general contractors.Experience in industrial facilities such as manufacturing plants, warehouses, processing plants, or utilities.Estimating or project coordination experience.Ability to travel to job sites as needed.Key Competencies
