Job Description Summary
Coordinate projects and contribute to the overall administration of College Park Scholars, an academic residential community for academically talented freshmen and sophomores in one of 13 interdisciplinary programs.
Duties include :
1. PROJECT AND ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATION 50%
2. FRONTLINE ENGAGEMENT & STUDENT SUPPORT 35%
3. SPECIAL PROJECTS 15%
Support central staff on ad hoc projects, potentially including
Physical Demands : Physical activity is present in both typical office environments and student programming settings. Lifting of boxes and materials, particularly during occasional evening or weekend programs / duties, is sometimes required.

PREFERENCES :
Preference for a candidate with administrative experience in higher education; familiarity with UMD systems and procedures (including course scheduling, parking permit administration, Workday for procurement and human resources, and student data); and interest in higher education policies and procedures. Should be a self-starter and problem-solver with a proven record of attention to detail, follow-through, reliability, and ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats with the varied constituencies of College Park Scholars. Should also demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of customer service and professionalism.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience : One (1) year of professional secretarial, clerical, coordinator, or administrative experience.
Other : Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
