Title : Exploration Geologist Location : Houston / The Woodlands TX Direct Hire / Perm FUNCTIONS Work within a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate exploration and new ventures opportunities. This will include full project evaluation and integration of all subsurface data in order to provide sound technical recommendations. Monitor industry activity, identify and bring opportunities to attention of Management.

Deal with Authorities and Partners as part of operated and non-operated joint venture activities. Coordinate and work within a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate opportunities including full project evaluation expertise integrating subsurface and economic data to provide sound recommendations to management. Requirements

The ideal candidate is a Geologist, self-motivated, results-oriented person that has at least 8-10 years of International working experience in the oil industry with a strong knowledge in Geosciences background in Exploration / New Ventures and Operations with International Oil Companies. She or he will be conversant with full cycle prospect evaluation including strong background in G&G (geological & geophysical) and risk and volumetric assessment. Candidate must have proven experience in mapping interpretation and comply with short deadlines. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently, while being an excellent team player. A technical background with over 10-15 years experience in the upstream industry. Fluent English spoken and written is a requirement. Experience in Gulf of Mexico, deepwater is a definite plus with SubSalt experience to generate and drill prospects below salt layers, salt sheets and other previously disregarded potential traps. Capable of performing full petroleum basin assessment, identifying exploration concepts and maturing these into drillable prospects through technical and commercial volume metrics and risks and upsides. Well log interpretation, Classical geological skills : structural geology, sedimentology, mapping interpretation, formation evaluation, log interpretation. Understanding of basic geochemistry and experience in basin modeling

Capable of working within a multidiscipline team. Technical experience

Knowledge of geological operations and geological well control. Familiar, Good knowledge with Geo-Frame geological applications. GIS expertise Proactive identification, evaluation, analysis and recommendation of new exploration opportunities in GoM to contribute to the company's growth objectives.
