Warehouse Specialist
SAIC is looking for a Warehouse Specialist to support the U.S. Navy in Bedford, IN.
Job responsibilities include preparing and arranging materials and products for distribution or storage, moving and loading or unloading equipment, materials, and products, using forklifts and related material-handling machinery, and using scoops, hand trucks, and wheelbarrows to load and move materials.
The role also involves receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, compiling stock records, sorting or weighing incoming articles, examining stock, storing articles, filling orders, preparing inventory, and requisitioning articles to fill incoming orders.
The candidate should perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties, use computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting, follow shipping practices and transportation requirements, receive incoming materials or prepare materials for shipment, control the efficient flow of goods, services, and information, develop and administer production plans, build relationships with strategic customers, and integrate learning to continuously improve competitive position.
Required experience includes a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in a warehouse or inventory setting. No clearance is required to start, but the candidate must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance. The candidate must be a US citizen, able to work independently, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects at one time. An active secret clearance is a plus.
