$67,849 - 90,367 Annually ($32.61 - $43.44 per hour), Depending on Experience and Qualifications
The primary function of this position is to support the Telecom Department in carrying out the needs of the utility. Perform a variety of activities related to the operations and construction of Telecom utility infrastructure.
Reporting To : Telecommunications Superintendent
Department : Telecommunications
Schedule : Monday – Thursday 6 : 30 am – 5 : 00 PM, occasional overtime, evenings & weekends
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license.
- Excellent problem-solving capability and ability to work well in a changing environment.
- Ability to adhere to local and federal regulations and company policies.
- Ability to drive company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner required.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
Work with construction project managers and / or OSP Engineers to perform fiber installation, as directed.Respond to and restore services for emergency calls.Responsible for being on the job on short notice to repair damaged cables until service is restored.Engage with Telecom and non-Telecom staff to enhance operational processes within District.Utilize knowledge and experience to troubleshoot, identify, and repair problems on the network.Performs other duties as assigned.Must be able to respond to emergency calls outside of normal work hours.May be included in on-call rotation, depending on experience.Job Related Qualifications

Working conditions include, lift, and move up to 50 pounds.Carry, climb and operate an extension ladder (approx. 28ft high and 75 pounds).Perform job from high places, towers, poles, and roofs.Use construction equipment and hand tools.Specific vision required; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus and color vision.Frequently sitting or standing for extended periods, field environment.Moderate noise level, occasionally exposed to high noise level, around moving traffic and night maintenance.Benefits
