Data Center Facility Manager

We are seeking a Data Center Facility Manager to serve as a technical resource and leader within Amazon data centers. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. The Data Center Facility Manager is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center. The Data Center Facility Manager will assist in maintaining a high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs in facilities at a minimum. This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This role acts as Amazon's front line when it comes to hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting.
Key job responsibilities include : overseeing all aspects of the data center's critical physical infrastructure, managing teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in all facets of their career, engaging in improvement projects, coordinating daily with a multitude of third-party vendors, effectively managing the operations budget and expenditures, and routinely operating as the afterhours on-call Data Center Facility Manager for the data centers in the region.
A day in the life as the Facility Manager demonstrates a strong commitment to prioritizing the development and well-being of team members, as well as fostering diversity and inclusion. You will oversee all facets of the data center's critical infrastructure with a focus on continuous availability and optimal performance, while upholding high-quality standards and minimizing any impact on internal and external customers. Basic qualifications include a high school or equivalent diploma, 2+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports experience, and 4+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations, experience communicating technical details verbally and in writing, 3+ years experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports, and 5+ years experience working in a data center or other mission critical environment with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
