Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform basic and complex MR imaging procedures and post-processing responsibilities
  • Support all imaging centers staffed by our organization
  • Maintain high accuracy in patient positioning and image acquisition
  • Apply knowledge of magnetic field safety and properly screen all patients and visitors
  • Ensure accurate processing of radiology orders
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures
  • Operate post-processing / 3D workstations
  • Perform image archival
  • Prepare and administer paramagnetic contrast media
  • Handle physical and emotional needs of patients sensitively
  • Internal candidates will be placed according to their Active / Current career ladder level

Job Qualifications

  • Required : ARRT and ARMRIT (MR) certifications
  • Required : Graduate from an AMA Radiologic Technologist Program
  • Preferred : Venipuncture certification
  • Preferred : AA or BS degree
  • Preferred : At least 1 year of MRI experience
  • Ability to adapt to technological advancements
  • Ability to identify contraindications for exams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with clinical billing (IDX codes)
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and pathology
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Willing to rotate across all UCLA Health radiology sites
