Schedule : Weekend Shift Only — Must be available to work Saturday and Sunday, 7 : 00 AM–3 : 00 PM or1 : 00 PM–9 : 00 PM

Job Summary

The Room Service Associate is responsible for the delivery and collection of patient menus and meal trays on assigned floors. This role ensures patients receive the correct meals, enteral feedings, nourishments, and snacks in a timely manner. The associate maintains pantry supplies, provides room service information to patients, and serves as a liaison between the Clinical Dietitian and Nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

Menu Distribution and Collection

Distribute and collect patient menus within established timeframes.

Assist patients with menu selections and substitutions as needed.

Generate and print necessary reports (e.g., Exception File, Unit Round Sheet, Missed Meal Report).

Verify menu details (patient name, room, ID, diet order) and take corrective action for any discrepancies.

Ensure late or new admissions receive menus on time.

Contact patients who have not ordered meals to identify and resolve issues.

Orient new patients to the Room Service Program.

Collect and return completed Patient Satisfaction Surveys according to schedule.

Tray Delivery and Collection

Deliver and collect meal trays, nourishments, and snacks within specified timeframes.

Assemble trays accurately with hot and cold components and beverages.

Verify that tray contents match meal tickets and report missing items.

Confirm that tray names match patient room numbers before delivery.

Ensure NPO (nothing by mouth) patients are not served.

Coordinate tray delivery for transferred or missing patients.

Handle guest and staff meal payments when applicable.

Return soiled trays and utensils via proper channels.

Required Skills & Experience

Ability to read, write, and follow basic instructions.

Basic computer skills.

All experience levels will be considered.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Familiarity with Clinical Dietetics.
