Description

The Department of Biological Sciences at Loyola University New Orleans seeks highly qualified applicants for a Professor of the Practicepositionto begin teaching introductory courses for majors and non-majors in Fall 2026.
Examples of Duties

• Teach four courses per semester
• Teaching assignments are based on needs of students and department and may include A&P for Nursing labs, Microbiology for Nursing labs, introductory biology labs, BioInquiry (a first-year seminar for majors), and Investigating Nature (an introductory science course for non-majors).
• Maintain weekly office hours
• Manage course content and post grades in Canvas LMS
• Assist with advising Biology majors
• Other duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications

• Minimum advanced degree (preferably PhD) in Biology or related field
• Demonstrated commitment to rigorous, innovative, and inclusive teaching

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations
• Teaching is primarily in person and on campus
