Description The Department of Biological Sciences at Loyola University New Orleans seeks highly qualified applicants for a Professor of the Practicepositionto begin teaching introductory courses for majors and non-majors in Fall 2026.
Examples of Duties- Teach four courses per semester
- Teaching assignments are based on needs of students and department and may include A&P for Nursing labs, Microbiology for Nursing labs, introductory biology labs, BioInquiry (a first-year seminar for majors), and Investigating Nature (an introductory science course for non-majors).
- Maintain weekly office hours
- Manage course content and post grades in Canvas LMS
- Assist with advising Biology majors
- Other duties as assigned
Typical Qualifications- Minimum advanced degree (preferably PhD) in Biology or related field
- Demonstrated commitment to rigorous, innovative, and inclusive teaching
Physical Requirements - Ability to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations
- Teaching is primarily in person and on campus
