We re hiring a Certified / Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our respected healthcare team in Southern Connecticut . In this vital role, you'll work with patients across all age groups, delivering advanced cardiopulmonary care in a collaborative, fast-paced hospital setting. You'll have the opportunity to work in critical care , rotate into charge responsibilities, and be part of a respected interdisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities :
Evaluate, manage, and deliver respiratory care for patients with cardio-pulmonary disorders
Administer oxygen therapy, medications, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, ABGs, and more
Accurately document patient progress using hospital EMR systems
Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving respiratory interventions
Educate patients on respiratory care and self-therapy after discharge
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuing education
Serve as charge therapist as needed and help ensure minimum staffing requirements
Schedule :
3 rotating 12.5-hour shifts / week
Day shift : 7 : 00 AM 8 : 00 PM
Night shift : 7 : 00 PM 7 : 30 AM
Includes rotating weekends and holidays
Applicants must be willing and able to rotate between day and night shifts . No exceptions.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Connecticut
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
NRP certification (American Academy of Pediatrics)
What You ll Need :
Strong manual and motor coordination
Physical ability to lift 30+ lbs, transport equipment / patients, and stand for long periods
Comfort working in environments with patient bodily fluids, odors, and occasional occupational risk
